The First wave of feminism this focused on gaining all those rights of women's and ways in which they may suffer in society... issues such as being able to vote were introduced in this wave, however...The Second-wave of feminism was more concerned with political values and ideologies into trying to improve a womans status in society.

Lastly the Third-wave of feminism: seeked 2 look more deeply into explanding sexuality and challenging usual thoughts and opinions of society... such as the introduction of lesbians.

...Historical...
Past years showed us that women had lost all their rights and were just seen as housewives, ha ving no high place in society women now can acheive that high status and power. By showing women on the TV that are in jail would have been seen absurd years before however now women can also be as agressive and badly behaved as men!

...Economical...
Because of the influx of equal opportunites for women these days, our screens have seen more owmen in power and more mainstream women roles taking over. The lead role of the film can now be played by the women and for that change in role alot of films...tv programmes are being mad differently making people more aware of this change and giving them more variety into what they decide 2 watch.

...Political...
The influence that mainstream TV has on society is huge. By showing such programmes it can influence society, however one could argue that it shapes it and simply makes people aware of such conditions and issues people may face in real life.
